Ben Jessome was elected as the MLA to represent Hammonds Plains-Lucasville in October 2013 and is proud to have grown up in his riding.

Ben’s involvement extends beyond his role with the provincial government, including coaching with TASA Minor Hockey, volunteering at the White Hills Long Term Care Centre, and working with after-school and student mentoring programs.

Growing up, Ben attended all three levels of schooling in his riding and went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management from Acadia University.

At the legislature, Ben has served as the Vice Chair of the Private & Local Bills Committee and is a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee in the Legislature.

His passion for representing his community is shown every day by his dedication to the area as an engaged resident and committed volunteer.

“I have learned a great deal about how to be an effective representative to government since being elected in 2013. We have a lot to be proud of as Nova Scotians, and I am prepared to continue serving our community and build on the progress we are making as a province. Serving the many needs of our friends and neighbours isn’t always easy, and I have never steered from tough situations. I believe that Hammonds Plains-Lucasville deserves a representative who is sympathetic to our needs and is willing to do what is required to help build a better future.”
