Lower your heating and power bills

There is a free service to help income-qualified homeowners in Hammonds Plains-Lucasville reduce their energy costs.

Improving a home’s energy efficiency is the cheapest, easiest way to reduce heating and power bills while making the home more comfortable year-round. But not every family can afford to take the first steps.

HomeWarming is there to help. They organize and install upgrades like draft-proofing and insulation at absolutely no cost to the homeowner.

Thanks to funding support from the Province of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Power, Annie MacAskill is just one of the more than 7,000 homeowners they’ve been able to help. Program participants like Annie not only save an average of $1,000 a year, they give HomeWarming a 9 out of 10 satisfaction rating in areas like courteousness, overall communication, quality of work, and time required to complete the work.
